Netia COO Kjell-Ove Blom to resign effective September 30, 2001
WARSAW, Poland - April 6, 2001 - Netia Holdings SA (Nasdaq: NTIA, WSE: NET), Poland's largest alternative fixed-line telecommunications services provider, today announced that Kjell-Ove Blom, the company's Chief Operating Officer and member of the Management Board, will resign with effect from September 30, 2001.
Mr. Blom joined the Netia Group as COO in October 1997 and has served on the Management Board of Netia Holdings S.A. since June 1999. He has principally been responsible for overseeing the development of Netia's nationwide telecommunications network infrastructure, including the fiber optic backbone linking Poland's ten largest cities, allowing for the future provision of national wholesale services, as well as the intra-city local loop networks. In addition, Mr. Blom has been responsible for, and last year successfully re-organized, the nation-wide branch organization. In this position he has given valuable operational contributions, not the least within marketing and sales.
Mattias Gadd, President and CEO, said, "We would like to thank Kjell-Ove Blom for his many contributions to Netia's progress and success over the past few years. Netia's nationwide network has given us an excellent technological platform for the roll-out of voice, data and IP services and for the company's profitable development as a leader in the rapidly-growing Polish telecommunications market. Furthermore, his international operational experience has been a valuable input to the young and growing commercial activities of Netia."
