Information on sale of Netia's shares (1/2009)
WARSAW, Poland – January 7, 2009 – Netia SA (“Netia”) (WSE: NET), Poland’s largest alternative provider of fixed-line telecommunications services, announced that it received a notification from Banca Akros S.p.A. (“Banca Akros”) informing that ownership of Netia’s shares held by Banca Akros has decreased below the threshold of 5% of the total number of votes at Netia’s General Meeting of Shareholders.
According to the notification, as a result of several market transactions effected up to and including December 1, 2008, Banca Akros holds, as of that date, 18,466,390 Netia shares, representing 4.74% of Netia’s share capital and entitling the holder thereof to exercise 18,466,390 votes, which represents 4.74% of the total number of votes at Netia’s General Meeting of Shareholders.
Previously, Banca Akros held 23,262,944 Netia shares, which represented 5.98% of Netia’s share capital, and was entitled to 23,262,944 votes, representing 5.98% of the total number of votes at Netia’s General Shareholder Meeting (see Netia’s press release dated September 28, 2007).
