Appointment of Netia's Chief Executive Officer and President of the Management Board member for a next five-year term (18/2012)


WARSAW, Poland – March 20, 2012 – Netia SA (“Netia” or “Company”) (WSE: NET), Poland’s largest alternative provider of fixed-line telecommunications services, announced today that its Supervisory Board, acting based on par. 18 item 2 of Netia’s Statute, unanimously appointed Mr. Mirosław Godlewski for position of President of the Company’s Management Board and Chief Executive Officer for a next five-year term, effective as of the date of Netia’s general shareholders meeting approving the financial statements for 2011.

Mr. Mirosław Godlewski, Netia’s Chief Executive Officer, 45, was previously appointed Netia's President of the Management Board and Chief Executive Officer effective February 15, 2007 (see Netia’s press release no 6/2007 dated January 23, 2007). Previously he served as President of the Management Board in Opoczno SA (from January 2006), one of Europe's leading manufacturers of ceramic tiles. From 2003 to 2005 he was President and CEO in Dec Sp. z o.o. (a subsidiary of GATX). From 1999 to 2003 Mr. Godlewski worked at Pepsi-Cola General Bottlers Poland Sp. z o.o. as General Manager (from 2000 to 2003) and Sales Director (from 1999 to 2000). From 1993 to 1999 he was employed at PepsiCo Trading Sp. z o.o. in various managerial positions. From 1991 to 1993 he worked at Polskie Biuro Badań Marketingowych Sp. z o.o. as Retail Audit Manager.

Mr. Godlewski graduated from the Warsaw Technical University with M. Sc. in Industrial Management. He also holds an MBA from Ashridge Management College, Great Britain.

Mr. Godlewski is member of the supervisory boards of the Polish Association of Stock Exchange Issuers (Stowarzyszenie Emitentów Giełdowych) (SEG) and ABC Data SA. He is also member of Young Presidents Organization (YPO).

Mr. Godlewski does not conduct directly or through legal entities any activities that would compete with the activities of Netia or its subsidiaries. He is not a partner in civil law company or any partnership, nor a member of any authorities of any corporation or any other legal entity that competes with the activities of Netia. He has not been registered in the Non-Solvent Debtors Register kept pursuant to the National Court Register Act.
