Netia deregisters from the U.S. Securities Exchange Act of 1934


WARSAW, Poland – April 8, 2004 – Netia SA (“Netia”) (WSE: NET), Poland’s largest alternative provider of fixed-line telecommunications services, today announced that on April 7, 2004, it filed a Form 15 with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to deregister the Company from the U.S. Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as amended (the “Act”). As a result, deregistration from the Act will be effective 90 days from the date the Form 15 was filed and periodic reporting obligations under the Act are immediately suspended.
