Netia appoints a new member of its management board
WARSAW, Poland – April 22, 2004 – Netia SA (“Netia”) (WSE: NET), Poland's largest alternative provider of fixed-line telecommunications services, today announced that its supervisory board appointed Ms. Irene Cackett as member of the management board and Chief Commercial Officer, responsible for new product development, marketing, sales and customer care. The appointment will be effective on the business day immediately following the date of obtaining a work permit by Ms. Cackett or on May 1, 2004, if such a permit is not required pursuant to the laws binding on that day. The professional career of Ms. Cackett’s, age 46, includes 25 years of experience in various managerial positions with telecommunications companies worldwide. Prior to joining Netia, Ms. Cackett worked for, among others, the following companies: Energis Plc as Managing Director, Corporate Solutions Business Unit (2001-2002) and Managing Director, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland (1999-2001); Energis Communications Ltd., UK, as Marketing Director (1995-1997), Information Systems Director (1995) and Head of Product Development (1993-1995); RSLCOM Europe, UK, (1998-1999); Orion Network Systems, Inc (1990-1993) and Mercury Communications Ltd (Cable&Wireless) (1984-1986). Ms. Cackett graduated from Liverpool University, UK, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and she also holds a post graduate diploma in Management Studies from Gwent College, UK. Ms. Cackett does not conduct directly or through legal entities any activities that would compete with the activities of Netia or its subsidiaries.
