Netia’s management board member was appointed the Deputy Chairman of ECTA
On January 5, 2010 Tom Ruhan, Netia’s management board member and ECTA (European Competitive Telecommunications Association) management board member, was appointed the Deputy Chairman of ECTA and the Chairman of Public Policy Committee. The Committee is responsible for ECTA’s relations with various institutions including the European Parliament or European Commission.
- „The appointment of Tom Ruhan to the position of ECTA’s Deputy Chairman underlines an increasing role of operators from our part of Europe in the development of the European community’s pro-competition policy in a broadly understood telecommunications sector. Additionally, this appointment is the acknowledgement of Mr. Ruhan’s work on ECTA’s management board during 2009.” - said Mirosław Godlewski, CEO of Netia.
ECTA - European Competitive Telecommunications Association was founded in 1998. It associates European telecommunications alternative operators, internet providers and suppliers of services and equipment for the telecommunications sector. ECTA management board is composed of 11 members.
The Association aims at the creation of regulatory conditions allowing all suppliers to compete on equal basis, which results in increased investment and greater access to innovative services for Europeans. ECTA represents the sector of modern communication technologies to governments and regulatory authorities and is a forum of experience exchange for the Association’s members.
