Netia introduces higher capacity links for broadband access

On April 19, 2010 Netia presented its new Internet access offer. The hitherto existing offer was expanded with 10 and 20Mb/s links for the promotional gross price of PLN 69. Additionally, clients buying bundled services get a Wi-Fi router for PLN 1 only. The promotion is available for clients served based over wholesale bitstream access (BSA), in Netia’s own network and via unbundled local loops (LLU).

“The faster the better – for both, our clients and for Netia. There is no price war as even after the price reduction TP’s offer has barely reached the level proposed by Netia, whenever we are flexible to shape the offer. It is not a revolution but rather TP’s late response to needs of a group of approximately 20% of the most advanced users.” – said Grzegorz Esz, Netia Chief Commercial Officer and board member. “Netia immediately grasps opportunities. I want to assure you that we will react at least equally fast in the future” – added Mr. Esz.

Other capacities are still offered for unchanged prices of PLN 49 and 59 (depending on technology 1 or 4 Mb/s and 2 or 8 Mb/s, respectively). Additionally, Netia maintains offering of two telephony tariffs: the subscription fee based “Evenings and Weekends” tariff, for PLN 49 monthly, covers local and domestic long distance calls from 6 pm to 8 am, as well as 24 hours a day in weekends and bank holidays. If a customer wants to make calls for free round the clock within the subscription fee, she/ he may choose the “Non stop” tariff for PLN 59 monthly only.

Clients who buy telephone and internet services together will not pay the telephony subscription fee for the first 4 months.

Lowering the price of a Wi-Fi router to PLN 1 for clients who buy telephone and internet services is the novelty of Netia’s offer.

The above offer is available for agreements concluded for 24 months.

Mirosław Godlewski, Netia CEO, commented: “Netia is pleased to see TP beginning to offer higher speeds at reasonable prices that hitherto were only available from cable TV operators. As a result, Netia is today able to launch its own high speed broadband offer nationwide and at competitive prices. We expect faster market growth and little or no ARPU deterioration as customers trade up to these faster broadband speeds”.
