Appointmnet of Netia's CEO and President of the Management Board


Warsaw, 22 April 2014 . The Supervisory Board of Netia S.A. has appointed Mr. Adam Sawicki to the post of President of the Board and Chief Executive Office of the company with effect from June 2, 2014.

"Over the last 7 years Netia has grown under Mirek’s leadership both through organic growth and by consolidating the fixed line market through acquisitions. Adam is taking on the responsibility to build on this unique business platform to provide competitive products and services to our customers and thus create further value for Netia’s shareholders. On behalf of the Supervisory Board I welcome Adam and wish him success in the new role” – said George Karaplis, Netia’s Supervisory Board Chairman.

I've known Adam Sawicki for over 10 years, I respect him as an expert of the telecommunications market, as the leader and the man, because I have no doubt that Netia has gained a great CEO.” said Mirosław Godlewski, President of the Management Board of Netia. "I am impressed the Board has selected an appropriate candidate and I will in the coming weeks, participate in handing over the Company to the new CEO." added Mirosław Godlewski.

Adam Sawicki
43 years old, has been appointed as President of the Board of Netia S.A. on 22 April 2014, with effect from 2 June this year. Before has worked as a counselor for different business projects. In 2012, appointed to the Board of Directors of the KGHM Poland S.A. to the position of Vice President. In the years 2011-2012 Mr. Adam Sawicki served as President of the Board of Directors of the Ruch Internet, a part of Ruch Group, responsible for the development of e-commerce market.
In the years 2008-2011 led the GTS Central Europe Group, creating one telecom operator with five independent operating entities in Central and Eastern Europe.
His professional career started in 1996, Telia in Stockholm as a consultant in business development. Over the years he worked in various companies of the Group Telia (TeliaSonera then) in Scandinavia, Great Britain, Ireland and Russia.
Mr. Adam Sawicki is a graduate of Economics and management at the University of Stockholm. He also completed the General Manager Program from Harvard Business School.
